25 Years in the
Making: From a One-Man Band to the Speedfactor Team
It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since Speedfactor started as a one-man operation. Back then, it was just Evan selling Honda upgrade parts; today, we’ve grown
into a dedicated team of seven. We’ve expanded from those early days to supplying parts for most European and Japanese models, backed by a full-service workshop that handles everything from
mechanical repairs and fabrication to custom engine building and machining.
Like any business, we’ve had our fair share of hurdles. Lately, global shipping and logistics have been a challenge, made even tougher by the current unrest in the
Middle East. Fortunately, we’ve spent years amassing a massive inventory across two buildings (including our home base here in Tauranga), which means we can usually get you what you need right
away.
In today’s market, we’re often up against online-only stores that don't actually hold their own stock in New Zealand. Because we keep our parts ready to go on the
shelf, our overheads are a bit higher, but it means you aren't stuck waiting for a shipping container to arrive from overseas.
Looking back, we’re incredibly proud of how far we’ve come. The industry has changed and many businesses have vanished, but we’re still here and stronger than ever. We owe that staying power to our skilled crew, Evan’s vision for the NZ market, and the incredible support from all of you who keep us moving.
Thank you for supporting our locally owned and independant business.
